Message I miss Devin terribly every day that I walk around the uconn campus. Everywhere I look i remember a fond memory of times we spent together. Devin was my first and best friend I ever had in my entire college career. His free spirit and love of life encouraged and uplifted me to no end. He made me laugh whenever I was down, and always had that bit of wisdom to impart on me to get me through. The loss of such a wonderfully amazing person will be felt for years to come. I hope somewhere in heaven he is still smiling his big, goofy, mischevious grin, and watching over me.

Message My sincere sympathy goes out to Devin's family and his friends. Many students pass through my office in the School of Business, but there are few that leave an immediate impression (good or bad) that causes me to remember who they are each time they return. Devin was one of those students who left a good impression, and who I remembered each time he stopped by to meet with a professor. It was apparent that he was a unique and positive person. His accomplishments, and the sentiments left by the people who loved him show what an amazing person he was and how he'll never be forgotten.

Cordia Murphy - Former Executive director of the Teen Life Center  17/07/07   21:28:16 Date
Message Although this was not publicized in the papers, Devin was also an intricate part of the Teen Life Center in Stamford. He joined the Center towards the end of it's existence, participating as an Urban Monkey writing scripts for TV shows. As he grew within TLC, he helped maintain the compuner learning center and provided friendships to many.

He was received well by the group and all of the members admired his use of creative thinking and mostly his all around good hearted nature.

When I found out the news of his passing, I was sad. Then I received phone calls from former teen members who have since moved on in life and who were looking for an outlet to express their admiration and sadness for the loss of a fine young man.

Having gone on with my own life over the years this struck me, because not only did I mourn for his loss, I realized that even as years go on Devin has left a very distinctive mark on all our memories and on all our hearts.

You will be well missed.

Message I remember the first time I met Devin. His hair was bright pink and he was wearing a huge, green feather boa. I'm proud to say that I loved being around Devin- you always knew he was there and the room just lit up with laughter. To all of you who have laughed 'till you cried, tried desperately to outdance beyonce, studied till you thought your head would pop, and act out movie scenes 'till everyone stares, I know Devin would want us to continue living the way he did- with vibrant flair and deliberate divaocity (yes, that's a word- Devin said so). I know Devin would want us to celebrate the joys he shared with us, and for someone to keep the crown out of Beyonce's hands... Dance on, diva... we miss you!

Message I feel like it's been a lifetime since I left Stamford, and there are so many times looking back that I wish I hadn't. Far too often do I hear of tragedy and heartache such as this. Not being there makes it seem less real somehow... but to everyone going through this... having it happen in front of you... I am sincerely sorry. I don't really have much in the way of a story, but I don't feel I could give any worthwhile sort of farewell either. So I'll share my memories as they are.

I had class with Devin in middle school... and we were in show choir together... I didn't know him well, we only talked a bit now and then. But I remember he had a beautiful voice that carried the very tiny section of boys who were brave enough to be in Mr. Grays' Show Choir. I also remember he was very kind and had one of those laughs you never forget... loud and infectious! Which always struck me as ironic for someone who was so quiet and kept to himself in school.

Only knowing him as a kid, he seemed like a really smart, talented guy... and from what I've read, from what people have shared, it sounds like he grew up to be a truly amazing man. I'm sorry to everyone for your loss. And I'm sorry I never got to know him better.
